Social Media as the name itself suggests describe the ways by which people interact among each other with the help of web based technology. It refers to as the means of interaction between the population whom they know and can easily share, exchange and connect with each other through the source of virtual communications. In this type of interactions is achieved with the help of Web 2.0 version that allow the exchange and interaction of user generated content.
Social media have positive effects like they help
in individual advertisement ,creating friendship circle and democratization of
internet but as everybody knows pros and cons are attached with a minute
particle also so it also have a drawback that children can have exposure with
bad habits of image to alcohols, cigarette, Sexual videos etc. First networking
site which was launched in the year 1994 was Geocities.
The user coverage of Facebook is the highest among
different social media Networks with approx 955 million users and the minimum
users are registered with Pinterest which is approx 16.8 million between these
sites stands Twitter , Window Live Messenger, Google+, LinkedIn, Instagram and
Foursquare.
